What I wear to work today.

Assalamualaikum everyone.

Just a short sharing of my working attire for today. I worn my new butterfly abaya which looks more like a mishlah. Anyway, got to be ready for tarawikh so this is gonna be very short.

And I also use my new handbag which is a Coach imitation with a very good quality material and workmanship. Anyway, I've bought a new handbag because I have donate most of my handbags to relatives and friends.

This is how I would style my butterfly abaya

Assalamualaikum dear friends and readers.

I hope you still remember me telling you that I've purchased a butterfly abaya two months ago. It was so comfortable to wear and I am thinking of ordering another one soon. A friend of mine saw me wearing it on Friday during my tutorials and she wants to order one for her. I think I'm gonna stock Abaya Elegan with butterfly abayat soon.

You've got to try it. Believe me, it is c o o l. Below is my beloved butterfly abaya custom made for me. The price is so reasonable and affordable. Only RM120.00 or around USD38.00.

That is my style for going to work. Since the abaya is black it can be matched up with any colours as long as you are comfortable in it.

If I want to be a bit funky, maybe this style would be suitable. I'll give it a try this Eid.

I love wearing abaya and I am always sure of myself wherever I go. It has never restrict me from doing things that I like - working, sports, business, welfare works and furthering my studies. Alhamdulillah.

Study Week - Today's Attire

Assalamualaikum everyone.

I am in the middle of my study week now and in a few days my exam will start. Since I don't want this blog to be left alone without any update, I think I'll share with you today's attire, inspired by a virtual friend Notti Netti.

and I have this Nautifit light purple wedgy on my feet.

I forgot to snap a picture of my handbag, but anyway, today's theme is purple on black but my handbag is red+black. Well, as a Muslimah with a career, we should always look smart, clean, tidy, elegant and efficient. We should try our best to be the walking example of a good Muslim to others. Even though I cover myself from head to toe, it does not mean that I cannot look good.

Looking good and feeling good with our presentation, is a kind of self-confidence. It is also a magnet for da'wah. For me, clothes are related with akhlaq, our behaviour. Insyaallah our appearance in front of others especially in a big Muslim community can help us influenced them to love Islam. This is from my own experience.

When we wear our dresses our akhlaq should tally with the way we dressed which is according to the teaching of Islam.

What's under the abaya?

A pair of 'baju kurung'. Malaysian likes to wear this dress in any occasion, be it formal of not, depends on the quality of the material, decoration, cutting and brand too. Mine is a normal one which I wear on daily basis. It looks like a skirt and a tunic made from the same material. I prefer to make cuffs for the sleeves to make sure that when I raise my hand, the sleeve stay secure at the wrist.


What's the outside look like?

I have an abaya or Malaysian call it 'jubah'. This is a custom made abaya which I make the design. Open front with buttons and also front pockets. Most of my old abayat are like this. Sleeves are also cuffed.


And a pretty square 60" hijab of the same colour. This hijab is quite big and can give more coverage even if you are tall and big. I even can twist it into niqab.


Lastly my old shoes which I seldom wear because I think it's too fancy. Previously I wear it during Eids and also weddings. Cheap shoes but comfortable to wear.


Don't you think they matched?

Women like to match their clothes in one tone of colour but sometimes they also do Mix and Match.

Sunday is Uniform Day

Assalamualaikum and a happy good morning to all of you. Peace and blessing of Allah be upon the Prophet Muhammad and I wish you all the best in health.

I'm at the Library now, trying to finish reading the current book that I'm going to review. Aside from the headache that still lurking in my head (at least it's not that painful like yesterday), my morning tasks are almost finish.

Sunday is not a weekend day for me because people in Kelantan work on Sundays and rest on Friday and Saturday. The Library is a bit weird because the weekend is Thursday and Friday, LOL. Anyway, just don't let it confuse you.

Sunday means I have to wear my uniform to work. I have 2 uniforms, a batik 'baju kurung' and a pattern abaya (featured below). I prefer wearing the abaya more than the 'baju kurung' because I'm not very fond of wearing it outside of my abaya but once in a while I have to wear it to work. 'Baju kurung' is decent and modest, don't get me wrong but I've always wear it under the abaya since I was 16.


This is today's attire and the pic was taken this morning before I came to work. The hijab is one of the newest (bought at TURSAB). I'm very happy with my working environment and also because my bosses let me wear my niqab there. Alhamdulillah.

What Would I Wear Tomorrow?

Assalamualaikum to all my friends out there. Today I've just finished my first exam paper. It was rather difficult but I think I did quite okay. I hope all the answers that I've wrote are correct. Hopefully.

BTW, I took a one day leave for today's exam and tomorrow I'll be back at the office. As for those who don't know, in Kelantan working days start on Sunday until Thursday and weekend are Friday and Saturday. But... my office is a bit different. Although I'm in Kelantan but my working days start from Saturday until Wednesday and my weekend are Thursday and Friday. Wierd isn't it? You'll get confuse. Just don't think about it, hehehe.

Anyway, just now I was looking through my wardrobe and trying to sort out what would I wear to work this week. As most of my clothes consist of abayas, big square hijabs, long wide pashminas, dresses and baju kurungs, I think these would be my assemble for tomorrow. What do you think?

Lunch with colleagues
