Cinch Belt and Muslimah

Lately, I've seen so many women sporting a CINCH BELT whether they are a hijabi or not. Actually I don't really care if the wearing of the belt has nothing to do with religion but now I have to care because Muslimah has started to match their style with this belt. Why?

Yes, why?

Because it accentuated your figure especially the upper part of your body. I think every Muslimah knows the limit and boundaries of our fashion. Every piece of clothing that we wear everyday MUST be aurah compliance which basically you already know.

Then came the new style of wearing the cinch belt on top of your loose dress which of course will show to everyone's watching how small or big your hips are and how small or big your boobs are. Please sisters, do not let yourself being ogled at because of the way you're dressing.

What's the purpose of the clothes of a Muslim women? Let's cover ourselves properly. Fashionable is okay as long as you do not step over the boundaries. And I'm sure all of us know what the boundaries are.

I have an abaya for sale

Assalamualaikum to all my dear friends. I'm taking this opportunity to offer you my abaya which was bought recently but a bit too long for me. I love the colour, the beads decorations and the sleeves design but it is way too long for me. Actually I already alter the hemline a bit but still it's sweeping the floor. Take a look.

You must know that my abaya is the smallest size, which is XS but I think this one is an S because the measurement is a bit bigger than my other abayaat. If you are interested I'm selling this abaya for RM120.00 including postage. Almost forgot, the material is very soft and suitable for the Malaysian weather. This abaya is made in Vietnam according to the retailer.

I love this abaya but it will be a waste in my wardrobe if I can wear it as often as I want. So, better sell it to someone else. Email me... FCFS.

Things you can find around the religious lecture's in KB

Assalamualaikum and good afternoon to all my friends and readers. May all of you are in good health and enjoying your weekend with your loved ones. It's already 1 minute after 4 and soon my working hours will end for today. This is  a quick sharing with you of some pictures that I've taken yesterday's morning at the religious lecture in town. Hopefully you'll find this interesting. Let's see what I have:

Food.... food... glorious food. Eh, I mean Kelantanese 'kuih' or sweet delicacies. There are a wide variety of them and here are some examples.

Many clothing stalls are selling the latest design of jubah/jilbab. The stall owner said that this one is the newest. Anyone interested? They are reasonably price, the material is quite soft and it has lots of colours to choose from.
Around the place there are many stalls selling food and one of them is this stall selling Thai food such as the Pulut Ayam (sticky rice eaten with herb fried chicken). I've bought one piece for tasting. The sticky rice has no taste, the fried chicken is rather sweet after I poured the sauce on it. No repeat tasting after this.

I think this food known as Popi Ayam is also originated from Thailand. Looking at it makes me think of wantan, a kind of Chinese food. Sorry, I do not try this one. Maybe next time.

Well, next time I'll share more pictures. Got to go, wassalam.

Depression is everyone's experience

10 All Natural Ways to Stop Feeling Depressed
copied from Pendidikan Seumur Hidup

  • Life is a drag.
  • What’s the point of anything?
  • I’ll never be happy.
Do any of these gloomy thoughts sound familiar? It’s likely they do. The occasional case of the blues is perfectly normal, but that doesn’t make dealing with it any easier. If you allow them to, negative thoughts can fester and lead to serious depression. That’s why it’s important to take action early to bust yourself out of a slump.

While these suggestions won’t eliminate your problems, they can help you break a negative thought pattern and stop feeling depressed. If you think you might have a serious mental health problem, don’t hesitate to see a medical professional.

1. Understand the emotional cycle - Life is an emotional roller coaster. Some days you feel like nothing can stop you. Other days you feel utterly hopeless. Most of the time you’re somewhere in between. Understanding the pattern of positive and negative emotions will help you put your feelings in perspective. Next time you feel down, just remember that it’s a natural emotion that will inevitably pass. Knowing that a feeling of depression is only temporary makes it less dreadful.

2. Spend time with positive people - Nothing affects the way you think and feel more than the people you interact with. Thoughts (both positive and negative) are contagious. If you are surrounded by negative people, it’s only natural that you’ll start to think and feel the same way. To improve your outlook on life, spend time with positive people. Search them out and try to understand the way they see the world. Chances are their happiness will rub off.

3. Reflect on past success - In the wake of a colossal failure, it’s easy to forget everything you’ve ever done right. Take a few minutes to remember your past accomplishments and build yourself up. What made you successful before? What are your strengths? Frequently, this exercise will build self confidence, help you figure out what went wrong, and generate ideas for success in the future.

4. Focus on gratitude - It’s human nature to measure ourselves against those ahead of us on the social ladder. Studies have shown that people care more about being richer than their friends than actually making more money. When you consider everything good in your life and compare it to the problems of less fortunate people, the issue that’s making you depressed won’t seem as serious.

5. Change of scenery - One of the best ways to change the way you feel is to change your environment. When you get in a slump, you start to associate your problems with everything around you. It can get to the point where your environment is a constant reminder of your problems. This can be a dangerous cycle. The solution is to change things. Change doesn’t have to be radical. Cleaning up, adding more lights, or including pleasant decorations can completely change the mood of a room.

6. Break your routine - Going through the same routine, day after day, can be monotonous and depressing. It often leads to getting caught in a rut. To get out of it you need to temporarily change your routine. If you can, take a day off from work. Do something you don’t normally have time for or something you’ve never tried. In the long run, taking a day off every now and then to get out of slump will make you happier and more productive.
7. Interact with animals and nature - It’s funny when you consider how humans put so much importance on their own tiny problems. Animals don’t think this way. A little bird doesn’t mope around because it isn’t an eagle or because another bird beat it to a tasty seed. Animals live in the present moment and they show love unconditionally. Observing and interacting with them will help you get over your problems.

8. Get moving - As Johnny Cash famously suggested, “Get a rhythm, when you get the blues.” Moving to a beat makes everyone feel better. The same is true for movement in general. Hitting the gym or going for a walk will help you shed the lethargy that comes with feeling depressed. The more enthusiastic your moments, the better you will start to feel.

9. Think about the big picture - As Carl Sagan made evident with the Pale Blue Dot, we’re insignificant creatures living in a vast universe on a tiny planet. In the long run, everything we do will probably be forgotten. Some might find this depressing, but it shouldn’t be. It means that all our problems are illusory. In a million years no one will remember what you did or didn’t do. What matters is the present moment and enjoying every second of life that we’re blessed with.

10. Do something to help yourself - Above all, the best way to stop feeling depressed is to take action. What is your biggest problem? How can you alleviate it? Once you decide to stop moping and start moving forward you won’t have time to feel depressed. Action will occupy your mind and give you something to look forward to. Once you get some results, you’ll build momentum and positive thinking will keep getting easier.

NOTES FROM KAKCHIK:
This month I've read a few blogs about depression, stress, sadness, upset and the likes. I think this article is a good read for anyone needed and hopefully these kind of problems can be dealt properly and wisely. Let's make our life happier and leave depression behind. As a Muslim we should always try to get back to Allah either in good or bad situation. Let's try to remember Him more during our happy times so that will always remember us.

Masjid of Pulau Melaka

This is Masjid Pulau Melaka, the mosque/masjid of my village/kampung.

Not long ago someone asked me to paste a picture of our 'kampung's masjid because she wanted to see it. While searching my Picasa web album, I found this picture that was taken earlier last year.

This masjid is only a walking distance from my house. From this picture you can only see the men side while the women area is to the left side of this picture.

In front of this masjid are an Islamic secondary school, Maahad Darul Anuar on the right and a tahfiz school on the left, Maahad Tahfiz Nikmatillah. Closer to the women area are the private primary school, SRI al-Anuar and also a kindergarten, Pusat Asuhan Tunas Islam (PASTI).

Frankly speaking, if you are living here, your kid would have a place to study starting from pre-school until secondary/high school. In this small village, we almost have everything for education. Alhamdulillah.

Only that, I only went to the kindy and then to a government schools.

Calling for Nazliah

Assalamualaikum Naz and of course anyone else who drop by for a visit. Thank you for coming here. Please forgive me for writing this entry specially for Nazliah. It's because I want to tell her of these pashmina hijabs and at the same time share them with you. If you find this is uninteresting, you can always read the previous ones or just browse around the blog.

Ok, back to Naz,

Yesterday afternoon I went browsing for your hijabs at a few hijab stores. Looks like the cheapest that I can get for the kind of hijab that we've talked about is RM10 a piece.

Guided by the colours that you've requested, these are the closest that I could find.

The material is cotton pashmina. It's very smooth and light. I have one in pink and worn it two days ago. As I've told you, the size is standard pashmina's size, means very long and big.

The blue that you requested is not to be found in any of the shop that I went. There are a few but they are either quite short and sheer or very long but shorter in width. So, I chose the blue that you can see in the picture.

So, tell me if you like to have all of them or not. They are just RM50.00. Hehe of course you would have to pay my mileage, my energy, my time, my bargaining skill, my taste, etc etc etc hehehe... Naaah... I'm just kidding! You only need to pay the price plus the postage cost.

Leave me a comment if you like all of them.

Wassalam.

Something for the married ones ONLY.

Assalamualaikum wr wbt.

In this peaceful surrounding inside the Library, I get a chance to browse through the online newspapers and came upon this article.

Make love to stay healthy

People who have frequent sex are generally healthier.
Researchers have long known that not only is sex fun (when done with the right person, of course HALAL partners for Muslims), but that people who have frequent sex tend to live longer and have healthier hearts and lower rates of certain cancers.
These studies also show that men with an active sex life have healthier sperm, and sexually active women have fewer menopause symptoms.
In a British study, people who had intercourse twice a week or more were less likely to have heart attacks and other fatal coronary events.
Those who had sex less than once a month had twice the rates of fatal coronary events, compared with those with the highest frequency of intercourse.
In a study published in the journal Biological Psychology, people who had sex more often tended to have lower diastolic blood pressure, or the bottom number in a blood pressure reading.
A French study found that women who have intercourse not at all or infrequently had three times the risk of breast cancer, compared with women who had intercourse more often.
A Minnesota study found that men who’d had intercourse more than 3,000 times in their lives had half the prostate cancer risk of those who had not.
While it’s not clear why this would be true, studies have found that men who had more intercourse tended to have better prostate function and eliminated more waste products in their semen.
A study of healthy German adults revealed that men and women who had sex more frequently tended to be slimmer than folks who didn’t have as much sex.
Sex burns 50 to 60 calories per encounter, so sex three times a week for a month would burn about 700 calories or the equivalent of jogging about seven miles.
A group of men being treated for erectile problems saw greater increases in testosterone when, along with the treatments, they had frequent sex.
Specifically, men who had sex at least eight times per month had greater increases than those who had sex less than eight times per month.
In three studies, men who had frequent intercourse had a higher volume of semen, a higher sperm count and a higher percentage of healthier sperm, compared with men who tended to participate in other sexual activities.

Published Jan 24, 2010
In all the studies that the writer has been quoting, he does not even tell us the exact source of them. Would you agree and accept all the things that he has been saying about 'making love'? Let's see what Muslim scholar has to say about 'making love'.
Eminent Muslim scholar Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi:
"The Qur'an emphasizes the spiritual objectives of marriage, making them the foundations of marital life. These objectives are realized in the peace of mind which comes through wholesome sexual experience with the spouse whom one loves, in the enlargement of the circle of love and affection between the two families united through marriage, and in the nurturing of affection and tenderness among the children under the loving care of their parents. These are the objectives mentioned by Allah in the verse that reads: "And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell with them in tranquility, and He has put love and mercy between you. Indeed, in this are signs for those who reflect." (Ar-Rum: 21)

It is permissible for the husband and wife to enjoy having sexual intercourse in the way they like as long as they avoid that which is unlawful. The husband and wife are absolutely permitted to be fully naked in each others presence and there is nothing wrong in looking at each others private parts and sleeping nude with each other.

{And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame}, [Soorah al-Mu.minoon, Aayaat 5-6]

Allah Almighty says in Holy Quran chapter number 2 Al-Baqarah, verse number 222 and 223:

"They ask thee concerning women's courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution: So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them as ordained for you by Allah. For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly; and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.

Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will; but do some good act for your souls beforehand; and fear God. And know that ye are to meet Him (in the Hereafter), and give (these) good tidings to those who believe.".(Holy Quran 2:222 and 223)

Based on this, all acts that aim at satisfying and pleasing the spouses are allowable so long as two things are avoided, that is anal sex and having sex with a wife while she is still in her menstruation or post partum bleeding. Hence oral sex is also permissible.

A husband/wife can satisfy her wife/husband through other avenues. A wife can masturbate her husband; similarly a husband is perfectly justified in satisfying his wife through other avenues; he could very well masturbate her; if he were to do this, he is working within the perfect limits of Islam.

A person masturbating on himself/herself is not allowed in Islam except in dire necessity where one fears falling into adultery; marriage is intended in Islam to be a shield against that. So being married, you should never be forced into this option.

In the light of this, scholars maintain that the husband is allowed to enjoy his wife through any means of enjoyment except anal sex, for that is forbidden. It is permissible for a woman to look at the entire body of her husband, and it is permissible for the husband to look at the entire body of his wife and seek pleasure.

The basic ruling regarding the wife seeking pleasure of her husband’s penis is that of permissibility, however, that which is feared is that this act may lead to possible oral intake of sperm or prostatic fluids. The Hanaabilah have indicated the permissibility of a wife kissing her husband’s penis, as is mentioned in ((al-Insaaf)) of al-Maardeenee [Volume 8, Page 33], and this is the opinion of Ibn ‘Aqeel and other than him. Also, Asbagh from the Maalikiyyah has indicated the permissibility of a man kissing his wife’s vagina as is mentioned in ((Tafseer al-Qurtubee)) [Volume 12, Page 231].

May Allah guide us all to the straight path!
Wassalam and Allah Almighty knows best.

I'm just sharing this here because a few days ago I've been hearing a lot about the misunderstood physical relationship between a husband and his wife although they've been married for many years already.

note: the red words above are mine

Before, I bought abaya from her, now we're neighbours

Assalamualaikum and good evening everyone.

It has been long since I post something about abaya. You probably can guess why I don't have many ideas on that topic if you've read my previous posts. Alhamdulillah the problem has been settled and now I move on with my life with a better and clearer picture of what I'll do for my future.

As I'm getting sleepy and I've been reading so much just now and also changed the template of my other 2 blogs, I've decided to waste your time with my random post. Forgive me.

Ibu

This is Ibu or known also as Kak Yah, the owner of KF Collections Boutique, the boutique that I've always visit for a new abaya. I use to buy many abayaat from her especially the ones from Vietnam. Some of the abayaat that I've bought from her already graced this blog a few times. Here are some of them:

All these abayaat are very nice and suitable with our tropical climate. The only down side is they don't have a matching shayla like the ones from Dubai or Makkah. All of them either decorated with sequins or beads that were neatly sewn. Just click on the image for a clearer picture.

And the one worn by Ibu is also from Vietnam. I wish I could buy that one for me but sadly Ibu does not has an XS size for that one. If not I'm sure I'll get one.

Well, if you are interested to buy this abaya, they are still in stock and the price is also very cheap compared to Dubai abayaat. Contact me at hanniaziz@yahoo.com if you are interested.

Wassalam.

Forgive and Forget

That's what I've been taught by my loving parent and also my teachers. So, through all the heart ache, crying alone, crying together, soul searching, heart to heart talking... I've decided to forgive that person and forget the previous event. May Allah give us peace and open up W's heart to be a more mature, wiser and better person.

I do not hold grudges for long because I always believe that Allah love me more if I forgive the wrongdoer. If you know my true nature, you'll believe me. I don't like sadness and I prefer smiles and friendly faces because they make me happy. When you are happy you do things better and full with satisfaction. Compared to that, life would be ... empty... nothing.

Let bygones be bygones.

I forgive you.

This is your second chance. Take it and manipulate it to built a better foundation for our future. We are here because of Allah's will, so we need to carry the amanah that He has bestow upon us. Remember, our mission is to die in husnul khotimah.

I love you.

Ma'assalamah.

Lastest (and last) Buy(s)

Okayyy, after these I'm officially not buying anything related to bags, clothes, accessories and shoes.. ever. So I bought this dress from ASOS they day before yesterday, I wanted it before it went on sale so it wasn't really an impulse buy. It was £35 from £48, which I'm down with:

.
But that's it, from now on, I'm just going to comfort eat. Anywayy, I was bored of revising bloody metabolism so thought I'd share my latest finds ^-^ better get back to it..

Betrayal

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamualaikum to everyone who came for a visit or just drop by. Have you ever been betrayed? What do you feel when someone you trusted betrayed you? How would you handle the problem? Yes, I have so many questions regarding this topic. You would ask, "why, what happen?" Well... just something unthinkable happened.

Pic credits: Zawaj.com

Monica A. Frank, Ph.D said that,
"Betrayal is probably the most devastating loss a person can experience. To be betrayed, the person must first experience trust in the betrayer. It is fairly impossible for you to be betrayed if you did not trust the individual in the first place. Therefore, the definition of betrayal involves the act of someone violating your trust in them."
It's TRUE.
When an individual is betrayed by someone, they lose trust in that person. In trusting another person, we believe that they won't hurt us; when they do hurt us, we then have the awareness that this other person has the capacity to hurt us. Therefore, we have lost something very important to the relationship.

Why did you broke my trust? This is the first thing that would be in your mind. If you are a very patient person, you would be pondering this question quietly. But if you are not, you might be crying your heart out.
Go on, lie to me and take me for granted. You'll regret all this soon. Don't you remember, Allah is everywhere and there are two Malaikats on either side of you? Please... please be responsible for all your actions. Remember the hadith that we learned during Form 4 in secondary? I remember it says that we should be responsible toward our own selves, our parents, our community and of course our deen.

Don't ever stabbeb me behind my back!  Do not claim nothing has happened. Do not say I was wrong! Find forgiveness, please... as soon as possible, from the person that trust you.
The reason that betrayal is the most devastating kind of loss is because most often it is a loss that didn't have to occur. It only occurs because of someone's deliberately hurtful behavior, or their carelessness, or their own personal weakness. The person who was betrayed believes that the choice was wrong and preventable
O Allah... I know this is your test. I know you are testing me so that I can remember who I am, why I am here and where I will be going soon. This is only part of the trials that I would have to overcome. If I become hysterical and loss my patient, I loose. But I think I win.

Please stay there for me so that tonight, tomorrow until I meet you again in Mahsyar.

I need You. Especially now.

I win because I'm so calm and not angry at all.

I win because I'm strong.

I win because I say things because of Allah.

Examinations

Even the word itself is distasteful. Well that's the reason for the lack of posts anyway.. They don't finish until beginning of Feb and I'll probably need several days to recover in a darkened, sterile room before I'm back to normal. So just to tell you that posts will be thin on the ground over the next couple of weeks. But don't worry I'll probably fail everything and get chucked out of uni and then I'll have all the time in the world to post, not once, not twice but three times a day. Who needs a career? Not me.. nope..

I want to stock up some Malaysian maps

Just now, a European couple from Renaissance Hotel came looking for a Malaysian map. Oh, I feel so disappointed because we don't have them. I don't even think of selling maps before because previously my bookshop was located a bit far from tourist center. I should have think about this earlier. Right now, we are very near to the hotel and I forgot about MAPS!

Allah has really helps me in getting better in this business and He is showing me more ways of making this works. Alhamdulillah. We are going to stock up some maps ASAP. I've seen a few tourist visiting a few shops in this mall. Hopefully they'll visit MariBaca, at least to rent a novel or two. I really want to make some new friends. I WANT TO PRACTICE MY ENGLISH.

Ahhh... it makes me feel so happy just by talking in English with them. My tongue does not twisted when I vocalized the words and I did not falter at all. Alhamdulillah... hehe. I'm so happy. Don't blame me. I just do not want my fluency in this second language decrease.

So... now I have to look for a map supplier. Hopefully I can find one who can supply me maps at a cheap price. Well, at least reasonable and of good quality.

O Allah!
Please show me the right way.
Please assist me in doing my business.
I want to be like Saiyyidatina Khadijah a.s.
Amiin.

A fan page for Abaya Elegan

It's already past midnight and I'm going to sleep in a while. Before shutting down this laptop, I'd like to share with you the new progress in my abaya shop.

Half an hour ago, I've successfully created a FACEBOOK FAN PAGE for Abaya Elegan. I really hope that you will support my business by being a fan.

Here's the badge
.

Thanks in advance. It's okay if you don't like abaya and do not want to be a supporter. Just ignore this appeal. Thank you and sweet dream everyone.

Wassalamualaikum.

I wish for these two.

Omani style abaya.

 Layered style abaya.

I've been looking for a few nice abaya designs for my new tailor made abayaat. InsyaAllah I'm sending my tailor a bundle of black clothes to make 3 new abayaat. I'm just trying my local dressmaker's skills in making abayaat. If they can make me very good abayaat, insyaAllah I will have a bright future for my project. Can't really share about that yet.

Is there anyone who knows what's the best black material for making abayaat for Malaysia climate? I've been wearing many abayaat from Dubai and so far, they suit me just fine in this weather but local people are being sceptically about it. You know, try it first and then you'll know.

I'm surveying for the most suitable materials in a few local fabric dealers and planning to propose a few sample abayaat for customers. I will post about it here when everything is ready. Mean while, just keep looking.

Have you ever seen a Crown Prince being an Imam?

 Pic credits to Rizal Tahir
PLEASE DO NOT COPY

Last night, a big event has happened in Kota Bharu.
The Crown Prince of our State has made news headlines in the local newspapers.
He became the Imam for solat. This has never happened before either in Kelantan or in other States in Malaysia. A history has been made.
FYI, in Malaysia, "The government is closely modelled on the Westminster parliamentary system.(Wikipedia).
The Head of State is the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, the elected monarch. Yes, we still have a monarchy (Sultanate) in our country which we respect.
As a humble citizen of Kelantan (one of the 13 States in Malaysia), I feel so proud to see my Crown Prince who is currently ruling the State on behalf of the Sultan, heading a prayer as an Imam. This is rare indeed.
Well, in Kelantan lots of things are different from other States.
We are unique in our own ways.
What else can I say?
After all, this is my beloved place.

The last day I made a Polyvore set was 20 days ago

and today, I'm going for simple and easy.

Remember the Clash of Two Worlds post that I've wrote a few days ago, I hope you still remember the beautiful red-on-black abaya worn by one of the ladies. I think I've found it!

However, it's too pricey for me so I would have to stick with my intention to tailor-made one for me.

Arm Candy

Check out my latest beloved bag, I didn't even complain that much that my journey to uni took 3 hours today and I missed an exam because of the bloody snow and it was aaall because I had my trusty arm candy by my side. It was £70 but so worth it:

You can get it from the Fiorelli site here, but it's out of stoke atm :S shame.

It's a fun place to be

Assalamualaikum and good evening everyone.

Well, I hope everyone is doing great and in good health and strong iman. Sorry about my outburst this morning. You know, when things get off limits, that's what happened. But I'm so thankful that I managed to hold on to my sanity and keep reminding myself that Allah is there for me. Alhamdulillah my day was brighter after that.

Today, as I keep updating in my facebook that I was tending my bookshop, I get this idea of showing you what it looks like inside the mall. When you get bored you tend to think of something interesting to do and I found that snapping pictures is very good.

On the way downstairs you can see this PEACE boutique that has lots of nice clothing for women. From t-shirts, cardigans, skirts, pants, and jubahs, you'll find it here. What is interesting about this shop is it stocks clothes size XS to XXXXXL! So don't worry if you are petite or bountiful, you'll find a dress there.

Then at the first floor, I stopped at VERSE, a shoe store just to look around. Lots of interesting shoes there. This one with a LOVE heel looks different and the other two are also nice. Hey, you can buy 2 pairs of shoes for only RM50! That's CHEAP! However, I have promise myself not to buy anymore shoes because a few days ago I already bought a nice pair from NAUTIFIT.

Upon reaching the ground floor, my nose kept smelling a very wonderful smell of wafer and KAYA BALL. Stomach starts rumbling and telling me to satisfy my hunger with a handful of kaya ball (pic above). See... very tasty and yummy. I ate four, er... maybe five of the little balls and brought the rest home for dear hubby. He ate them with a mug of coffee.

So... you're gonna ask, "Where is this place?"

To Kelantanese, most of them already familiar with this mall but to everyone else, I'd like to invite you to KOTA SRI MUTIARA shopping mall ESPECIALLY to the 3rd floor because it's where my BOOKSHOP is. Hehe... TATA.

Morning Depression

I am angry but I try to stay calm.

Reasoning?

The answer - I am always wrong!

My mom scolded me, my dad scolded me

and of course cold shoulder from the one I need most.

I am angry but I need to stay calm

and focus.

I have a job to go to

I have a shop to tend to

I have a diploma to  complete

I have an amanah to fulfill

Yet,

I was taken for granted.

I am angry and I am sad.

Sad... sad... sad.

Depression is coming

and I don't know

whether I can stay calm, focus

and happy as usual?

Be proud of who you are and what you do.

Alhamdulillah I'm proud to be a Muslim and I bow down to Allah the Only One God. I love this faith to death and I always pray that Allah will bless me as His humble servant and religious follower of the Prophet Muhammad, Rasulullah sallahu'alaihi wassalam. (saw).

And I'm proud to be a Muslim woman who is free to do what I like in order to help this Deen and of course with the consent to go out from my beloved and understanding husband. And this is what I love to do:

1. Doing book business and
2. Promoting and selling abayat.

Friends, here I am in front of my new bookshop. You will always be welcome there, insyaAllah. Please support me spiritually because I can maintain almost everything physically when my emotional well being is excellent.

Welcome to MariBaca Bookstore!

Love from KakChik.

A clash between two world.

Love the abaya design but I'm ashamed to see the background.
For a 'kampung' woman like me, the view at the back is way too bizarre and shameful to see. I'm glad that there's no lingerie shops modeled their merchandise like this in this town. Lingerie is something private and should be sold somewhere not too obvious.

Back to the ladies in the abayat, I love love that abaya. Hmm... now I'm thinking of tailor made one like that for me. What do you think?

The Best And Worst Hijab Looks Of 2009

I had quite a few more photos but they got lost when my previous laptop died :( Anyway here are the ones I managed to save. There are considerably more 'best' outfits, this is not because I couldn't find any horrible hijab outfits (all you have to do is google 'Egyptian hijab style' after all..) but because I don't want to post too many eyesores at once :S

Starting off with my favorite hijabi celebrity from the 'Celebrity Style Steal' posts, Muna Abu Sulayman! Her style is wonderful and was definitely my favorite person to post about. Check out the post here.

Next, the two best hijab wedding dresses I came across in 2009. I love the white one!!! For the full post and for the link to the shop you can buy them, click here.

Perfect for the modest non-hijabi as well :D

Favorite runway looks. For me, the Iranian runway is one of the best, I loooove the last dress and simple hijab style on the first pic although I would pair with straight leg jeans instead..

One of my favorite Rabia Z looks showcased on the runway :D (Although some others could have easily made it on the 'worst' list too :S) My very first post of all time, ever, was on Rabia Z. Check it out here:

This has to be my fave catwalk photo:

The one that actually pulled off the hijab and hat look...

And the one that didn't..

For more hijab and hat looks check out the related 'love it or shove it post' here.

My favorite smart looks from '09:

Smart/Formal:

Smart/Causal:

And my worst ever supposedly smart looks, sometimes I wonder who on God's earth actually sat down and designed such monstrosities?

I may well have seen this woman in a nightmare..

OK, this one makes me laugh, I can't actually take the outfit seriously because I'm reminded so strongly of a butterfly that someone has swatted.

Other faves: The perfect abaya..

For more on accessorizing your hijab, check out this post.

And finally, the worst hijab style? The old bandage look of course.

Hope you liked :D
